Our story

Studio Gold is the evolution of over a decade of residential renovation, architectural design, and hands-on project experience shaped across multiple cities and creative disciplines. Founded originally in New York City in 2015, the studio grew from years spent living and working throughout Brooklyn, where a deep appreciation developed for historic buildings, adaptive renovation, and the ways thoughtful design can transform everyday living.

Over the past decade, Sean Gold has completed more than 200 renovation projects across the country, ranging from apartments and brownstones to hospitality spaces and large-scale residential transformations. That work eventually expanded beyond New York into projects and collaborations in Austin, Dallas, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Washington, DC — each city contributing its own architectural language, pace, and perspective to the studio’s approach.

Driven by passion

Originally operating under the name Dipt Home, the practice began exploring how technology could simplify and improve the renovation process for homeowners. That vision continues today through Dipt, which is now evolving separately as a tech-enabled, human-centered home design platform currently in development.

The creation of Studio Gold reflects a return to the part of the work that has always mattered most: the deeply collaborative process of designing homes with people. By separating the technology platform from the architectural studio, Studio Gold is able to focus more intentionally on thoughtful renovations, spatial redesign, and highly personal client relationships.

Today, Sean splits time between New Orleans and Washington, DC with his partner, continuing to work with homeowners nationwide through both remote and select in-person collaborations.
